School Admissions Policy

Our Admissions policy reflects our mission statement, that we accept
students who are able to meet specific criteria. Therefore admission to
the school is based on the following assumptions:
 The student is able to fulfill the entry requirements for each Year
Group level.
 The student is able to benefit from the educational programme
at Dubai Gem Private School.
 Students with Special Educational Needs who apply to Dubai
Gem Private School will be admitted to the school as long as the
school feels it can provide for the physical and academic needs
of the child.
Dubai Gem Private School follows the British National Curriculum. The
students and staff are mainly from Asia and as such, the culture of the
school is Asian. The school emphasizes academic excellence and the
students are tested on curriculum content from Year 3 culminating in the
IGCSE at the end of Year 11, AS levels at the end of Year 12 and A levels
at the end of Year 13.
Admissions Procedure
Nursery
Dates of admission and procedures:-
Admissions begin in the first week of March for the term beginning in
September. Parents are interviewed by the Principal and forms are given
out for them to fill out and bring to the school accounts office to register
the child. Dhs.500/- (non-refundable) is the registration fee. The age
requirement is :
Lower Nursery : 1 year 2 months to 2 years 1 month (1st September)
Upper Nursery : 2 years 3 months – 3 years 1 month (1st September)
Primary
Dates of admission and procedure
Admissions begin in March for FS1 and in the first week of May for the
rest of the school. From September 2016, the age criteria for FS1 will
3.2 to 4 years by September 1st. An assessment is given to the applicants
by the teachers of FS1 and on their approval, admission is given. The
parents are then called to submit the documentation and pay the
registration fee. After this, they have to pay the first term fee by
mid-June.
